Blogging about
Bavarian Politics from Hotel
Bavaria is an interesting and very
beautiful part of Germany with a rich history and an
interesting cultural and political heritage. The unique
national identity and strong political views of a great many
Bavarian people could be successfully documented into an
interesting political blog. German politics may not seem
like the most interesting subject for a blog, but there is
something about Bavaria in particular that would lend itself to
being successfully culturally and politically defined through
the blog medium. A blog is not normally the most objective and
academic of text publishing methods and would allow for a full
and contextual understanding of the Bavarian people and culture
through the lens of politics.
Bavaria is a state in the Federal
Republic of Germany located in the south eastern corner of the
nation. There are 12.5 million people who live there and
its capital city is Munich. A political blog about Bavaria
would not have to be confined to just modern day politics, as
it could be argued that the political life of a region can only
be truly understood if it is looked at with the context of past
and present day cultural and economic realities. Different
sections of the blog could be dedicated to an understanding of
the Bavarian people through different perspectives. One section
of the blogcould be about the history of Bavaria and how it has
been politically and culturally influenced in the
past. Advertising could be a possibility and local
businesses such as different hotel Bavaria (Hotel
Bayern) may be interested in
getting involved. Staying at some of these
establishments while writing your blog would be a very good
idea.
The Bavarians originally emerged in a
region north of the Alps that had been under Roman
rule. They always spoke Old High German and did not seem
to migrate from anywhere but instead joined together from
groups that were left behind after the Roman withdrawal in the
5th century. This may be a hint of one of the original
reasons for their strong and independent present day identity.
This sense of originality and independence has been a feature
of the Bavarian people and is one of the reasons why this
region of Germany would be a great subject for a blog. The
Bavarian region was independent from the rest of Germany until
1871, and so many aspects of Bavarian life are rather distinct
from the rest of the nation.
Bavaria has a multi party political
system where the two major parties are the Christian Social
Union (CSU) of Bavaria and the Social Democratic Party of
Germany (SPD). The CSU has absolutely dominated the
political sphere since 1957 and won every single election since
then. What is interesting in Bavarian politics today is that in
the recent 2008 Bavarian State elections the CSU lost its
absolute majority for the first time in 46 years. The CSU
will have to form government with coalition partners for the
first time in 46 years, making for a very interesting few years
ahead. This dramatic shift in Bavarian politics makes right now
the perfect time to be blogging about these matters.
Before starting a political blog on the
area it would be a good idea to stay at some local hotels to
get a feel for the region and its people. You don't
really know a region until you stay there for a bit, and the
many Greenline hotel offers (Greenline
Hotelangebote) can make this
an affordable reality. The current political climate
of Bavaria makes for interesting reading by political
students everywhere. This fact when combined with the
unique culture of the Bavarian people could potentially make
a Bavarian political blog very successful
indeed. regular
